CPIM campaign against price rise from August 22-29

CPIM Tamil Nadu state committee which convened its meeting on 16th and 17th decided to conduct a vociferous campaign against the price rise of essential commodities and the anti-people policies followed by DMK government in the state and UPA government in the centre. The meeting was chaired by Central committee member Comrade U Vasuki. PB member K Varadarajan, CC member N Varadarajan, State Secretary G Ramakrishnan participated in the meeting.

It has been decided to conduct a week long campaign from August 22 to 29th. Committee observed that the price rise of essential commodities has came down heavily on the common man and the people are struggling hard to keep the both ends meet. And the recent hike of petroleum products has added fuel to hardship.

The committee decided to go for a door to door campaign, where by 50 lakh families in 3000 branches will be reached out. As part of this campaign 3000 padayatras will be carried out across the state. From August 30 to September 5 big mass meetings will be held at Chennai, Salem, Neyveli, Madurai, Kovilpatti and Thiruchi. In these mass meetings leaders including Com. S Ramachandran Pillai, Com. Sitharam Yechury, Com. Brinda Karat will be participating.
