CPI(M) to contest 16 seats in Himachal assembly elections

The Communist Part of India (Marxists) have announced candidates who would be contesting in 16 seats for the next month's assembly election in Himachal Pradesh.

The party will support the Himachal Lokhit Party and the CPI in remaining 52 seats, a CPI-M release said in Shimla on Tuesday.

CPI-M state secretary Rakesh Singha, Deputy Mayor of the Shimla Municipal Corporation Tikender Panwar and senior party leader Kuldeep Tanwar were among those who would contest the election.State CPI(M) secretary Rakesh Singha would be contesting the election from Theog,. Another prominent CPI(M) leader, Kuldeep Singh Tanwar would be contesting the seat from Kasumpati.
