Tamil Version of CPI(M) manifesto Released

The tamil version of CPI(M) election manifesto for the 15th Loksabha election's was released at a function in Chennai. Party General Secretary Prakash Karat released the manifesto at a function that was attended by Press personalities. CPI(M) is part of an alliance led by Ms Jayalalitha's AIDMK. Other than these parties the alliance also includes CPI, MDMK and PMK. PMK led by Dr. Ramdos was in the UPA camp till the elections were declered. His move to the AIDMK camp was the first major blow to the UPA. PMK was alloted 6 Loksabha seats in Tamil nadu. CPI was given 3 seats (North Chennai, Nagapattinam and Thenkasi). Talks are going on with CPI(M) and MDMK. Meanwhile CPI(M) state committe met on 03-04-2009 in Madurai and discussed the current politicial situation and gave full authority to the state secretariate to take decision regarding seat sharing with AIDMK

Meanwhile on saturday (04-04-2009) Forward Bloc National Secretary Devabrata Biswas met CPI(M) state secretary N Varadharajan and extended full co-operation and support to the candidates of CPI(M) and its alliance partners.
