Kannur, the red fort of the workers and toiling masses in Kerala is getting ready to hoist the 14th National conference of CITU scheduled for 2013 April 4 to 8. It is for the first time the Kannur is hoisting a CITU national level conference. A 5001 member reception committee with CPIM P B member Com. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan as Chairman and Com. K Sahadevan as General Convener is formed to make the conference a grand success. Various sub committees including Reception, Accommodation, Food, Transport, Exhibition, Sports, Cultural Events, Seminar, Medical, Publicity, Decoration, Media, Finance are working day night.
"CITU in its traverse from the 13th Conference in Chandigarh in March 17 to 21, 2010, to the 14th Conference in Kannur has been in the lead of various campaigns, struggles and strikes all over the country. These struggles by CITU on its own and also on a joint platform have created a powerful impact among the working people in the country. The 14th Conference, at Kannur from 4th to 8th April 2013 will be discussing all these issues and finalizing the future programme of action for CITU, from its own platform and also chalk out suggestions for future united actions" said Com.
