SFI state committee termed this as a sign of victory that Left Front in the state will be having in the coming Local Bodies election. The state committee also declared that it will carry out protest against those managements which are reluctant to hold college union elections. The KSU (Kerala wing of NSU) got rout out in the election. The "Rahul Gandhi Effect" is totally rejected by the students of Kerala. Many college unions which were in the hands of KSU were won by SFI this time. Wherever they were able to make a win, that too was with the understanding they made with ABVP, Campus front (Student wing of extremist organization Popular Front).
