Members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) were
arrested in Tiruchi on Wednesday after they indulged in picketing and
attempted to lay siege to the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital
demanding that the “unhygienic” conditions prevailing at the hospital be
rectified. A few members, who managed to get into the hospital to stage
a protest, were also arrested. They were released later in the day.
