This land holds the legacy of the great martyr Khudiram Bose. The participants in the rally held in pachim medinapore, in West Bengal clearly gave the message to the maoists terrorists that they wont allow this red land to be turned into a turf of extremists. Thousands of Left front supporters and sympathisers from Lalgarah, Jagram, Salbani, Harbatta, Radhanagar, Medinapur sadar, Govindvallabpur areas which are affected by Maoist terrorist activities participated in the rally to proclaim their solidarity to the Left Front Government in West Bengal.
West Bengal Chief Minister and CPIM Polit Buro member Comrade Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee while inaugurating the function accused the state's main opposition Trinamool Congress of having a 'nexus' with the Maoists and said the Left wing ultras should be thrown out of state. He was addressing a Left Front rally at the Midnapore College School Maidan in Pachim Meinapore.
'We have to throw the Maoists out of the boundaries of the state. They have killed many people. Many people have left their houses in this district and adjoining districts in the last one year due to the Maoist menace. Now these people are standing up against Maoists and returning to their homes. This is a very good sign. They (Maoists) are seeking an opportunity to capture power by pursuing the politics of murder and violence, but we will not allow it to happen. We have to work out plans in the Left Front to unitedly resist Maoists and rid Junglemahal of these elements who are out to create unrest with the help of Trinamool Congress.
Why it (Trinamool Congress) held a meeting in Lalgarh? It had gone there to rejuvenate the Maoists, cornered by the joint forces. But this time, even the Trinamool won't be able to save the Maoists. The people have stood up against this unholy nexus,' Bhattacharjee added. She is used to lying every day and her organisation is based on lies. She has made it a daily schedule to shout that a conspiracy has been hatched to kill her. It is based on lies. It is amazing that a party is surviving on the politics of lies," Bhattacharya alleged.
It is the Left that will stay on and it is the Left who will drive away the Maoists. We will see what happens to Trinamool Congress he added.
CPIM East Midnapore district secretary Com. Deepak Sarkar presided over the meeting.
